Whereas, Pro Hamas terrorist/protestors, shut down our main commerce and residential streets the afternoon of January 28th, 2024
Whereas, the above terrorist/protestors intended harm to not only our Jewish community but to all decent law abiding citizens of our city.
Whereas, the above action was created under no issued, nor applied for city permit
Whereas, our police, under supervision of our City Manager, made no effort to protect us from this illegal activity

Prosecute to the fullest extent our city, county, state, and national laws those that participated in the above stated activity, due to their violation of any and all stated laws.
And here with decreed the above decision be initiated within 30 days of receipt of this petition and to prosecution to be commenced within 60 days of this same period of time.

City Manager Statement 2.5.24
Thank you, Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Council members. Before we bring up the City Manager report item on the agenda, I’d like to provide a statement regarding the demonstration last week. On behalf of the City of Bellevue, I want to express my gratitude to Police Chief Shirely and the entire Bellevue Police Department for their professionalism, thoughtfulness and intentional management of the demonstrations on Bellevue Way on January 28.
The Police Department’s approach to this event displayed its commitment to public safety, de-escalation and preserving the constitutional right to protest. In this case, no one was hurt, emergency services were not impacted and transportation disruptions were minimal.
Consistent with any public safety operation in the City of Bellevue, the Police Chief and the lead incident commander have authority over the police response. Last Sunday’s events were consistent with our protocols at every level.
In incidents involving public safety, the police department and city manager’s office maintain close contact to ensure all parties stay informed for situational awareness. All operational decisions stay with the Police Chief and incident commander.
Like other events that involve law enforcement, we will learn from this incident and apply this knowledge in the future to ensure demonstrations in the city of Bellevue are lawful and peaceful.

Thank you again to our police department for their dedication to keeping our city safe every day.
